Forbes magazine has put put their latest billionaires list for 2012. Apparently there are 1153 Billionaires in the world today.
The #1 spot goes to Mexican Carlos Slim Helu, chairman of Telemex. His net worth, $69 B. This is the third year in a row that he is in the #1 position, but his net worth has come down $5 billion since last year.
The #2 position is held by Bill Gates, with $61 B and #3 is Warren Buffet, with a net worth of $44 B, and both from U.S
#4 Bernard Arnault - $41 B - source of wealth is Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH), from France
#5 Amancio Ortega - $37.5 B - source of wealth is Zara (fashion), from Spain
#6 Larry Ellision - $36 B - source of wealth is Oracle, from U.S
#7 Eike Batista - $30 B - source of wealth is mining and oil, from Brazil
#8 Stefan Persson - $26 B - source of wealth is H&M (fashion), from Sweden
#9 Li Ka-shing - $25.5 B - Diversified source of wealth, from Hong Kong
#10 Karl Albrecht - $25.4 B - source of wealth Aldi, from Germany
Incidentally, Mukesh Ambani is at #19 with $22.3 B, and Lakshmi Mittal is at #21 with $20.7 B. That makes Mukesh Ambani the #1 in India, out of India's 49 billionaires.
