Good manners while traveling in public transport

Something we lack...

Found this great post on FB, for a public service campaign to improve the manners of passengers on public transport. Not sure what the country is, but think there is a lot that we can learn from it too.

A majority of Sri Lankans rely on public transportation. While it's  not the greatest in the world, it's all we have. One way to make it pleasant is to be considerate of other passengers and not be a nuisance. If all passengers make it a point to be nicer to each other, then the journey would be a more pleasant experience.

There was another great article on Yamu about the same subject.

7 Types of People You Get in Sri Lankan Buses

So, the next time you are on public transport, be nice.

There are people in this world...

There are people in this world
whose lives want for nothing
wealth and power in abundance
living luxurious lives
devoid of hardships and strife
a perpetual joyride through life
yet dissatisfaction looms
more money, more power
the mantra of their lives
it matters not for them
who or what gets destroyed
to get what they want
shedding the blood of innocence
sacrificing thousands upon thousands
to satisfy their lust
will there ever be and end
to this cycle of violence and greed
or will we all perish
leaving nothing but a memory
of a self-destructive species
