The long
days of summer
are slowly
coming to an end
minute
by minute
the days
grow shorter
and the
nights longer
the
warmth of the summer sun wanes
replaced
by icy winds
sending
chills across everything it touches
verdant
leaves are starting to fade
hues of
red and yellow taking its place
transforming
the landscape
into a
beauty unsurpassed
creating
a vision of an enchanted land
in the
end these leaves will fall
shaken
out by the wintery winds
while
their trees prepare for a long sleep
naked,
and vulnerable
against
the fury of Jack Frost
